With apologies to New York Post columnist Cindy Adams, who more or less has a lock on that phrase, here’s a conversion story that has a uniquely New York flavor.
Last Saturday evening, at the Easter Vigil in the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral on Mott Street, a comedy writer who worked on “Seinfeld” and other hit shows show was baptized, confirmed and received First Eucharist.
Here’s Tom Leopold’s a marvelous account of his faith journey. And just think. He’s one of more than 2,000 men and women who were baptized and/or fully initiated in the Roman Catholic Church this Easter in the Archdiocese of New York.
Welcome to them all.
