O'reily offered a world stage for the Cardinal to tell Catholics not to vote for Obama... and the cardinal bailed. Certainly he could have been more specific without actually stating do not vote democratic. However, with the majority of parishoners voting for Obama in 2008 the stakes are high. If the cardinal Cardinal continues to balk when given the oportunity, I don't want to hear Catholics wine when they get what they are asking for in 2013 and beyound. Take a stand while you still have time. Telling people how to vote is a responsibility of The Church when so much is at stake. Popes used to choose emporers. Joe Biden and Kethleen Sebelius are not excommunicated then the word should be expunged from our lexicon. As part of Catholic education, this should be explained to the faithful. I mean, divorced Catholics, ordinary people, who remarry without an annulment are denied the Most Holy Eucharist but these apostates are not. Something is not right with this. This causes much suffering in families who through no fault of their own sometimes divorce because there is no other option. These folks, esp. the children end up outside of the Church. This is one of the most confusing aspects of our faith and is probably the cause of losing more Catholics than any other reason. I pray this can be clarified.
