Little did I know at the time that in immigrating to the United States I would eventually embrace the Catholicism that is part of my wider family's heritage and would experience the joy of seeing the papacy of Benedict XVI. It was with heartfelt thanks that I followed the Holy Father's visit to my native land. Thank God for the faithful Catholic press. My family and I left Germany when I was a little girl.
