Dear ArchBishop Dolan:

I to have been blest ! I am a Catholic Irish/American. Proud and forever grateful to Our Lord and His Blessed Mother.
In addition to my prayers - How can I help the religious/priest in Ireland?

I think it is a good sign that, in Ireland, the bishops whose watch this happened on have resigned. I always thought it was problematic we didn't see such resignations here; with leadership taking ownership of the scandal, the Church in Ireland has a much better hope of addressing its past in the right way.

What a beautiful, touching, lovely story! You are a blessed, blessed man! You are right, on our knees is not a bad place to be. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful tribute to your heritage and our faith.

Your Excellency,

Thank you so much for your words today regarding Ireland. I am a recent Notre Dame grad who has helped to establish a lay community here in Ireland with the goal of revitalizing the music, liturgy, and catechesis of the faithful. The priests and the faithful here are demoralized and they are in fact on their knees, but they are refusing to give up. We are witness to the pain and the hurt that these beautiful people feel but we are also witness to the trust and love that they have for God. Continue to pray for the people of Ireland, that they may rebuild their trust for the Church and may begin to heal from this dark time. Thank you for your ministry and leadership.

Kissing the Sacred Ring,
Chris Labadie
