What a dark shadow this growing hunger spreads across our "land of plenty." Years ago, I wrote a headline for an anti-hunger campaign. "HUNGER HURTS. EASE THE PAIN." That headline was inspired by a medical review of what a person feels as their hunger deepens. Everything hurts, not just the stomach. Let's try to prevent a single man, woman or child living in America to "hurt" like that.
