Many, many people believe that once I form my conscience, there is no objective standard of morality against which that conscience can be judged. Under this view, my conscience is the only infallible and inerrant judge of right and wrong, and I am, in effect, my own God. Adam and Eve tried that. Didn't work out well for them, or us.
