Please watch and share the link below with Cardinal Dolan and as many of the churches in the Diocese you can before the elections. We need to get this out to as many Catholic people as possible. New York is a lot bigger than Florida !

Father John Fitch is a Catholic priest at Epiphany Cathedral Church in Venice FL. His message is awesome. We need to work together to rebuild our Church and make her stronger in the USA.

I absolutely agree about the stakes of this election. What concerns me, though, is the factionalism that is seeping into the Church, setting Christians against each other based on the ephemera of contemporary politics, and diverting people from the true mission of the Church, which is the salvation of all souls (even if they are Republicans or Democrats).

When you say: "...the winners and losers are all mere flashes in the pan, here today and gone tomorrow, and their platforms are passing ephemera that nobody will remember in a short time..." you are of course correct.

However, this election is not your father's election. It is very Catholic and very Personal (capital P). God is trying to get our attention but not necessarily through the institutional Church. Recall the 3 votes at the convention against putting the word "God-given" in the Democrat platform. -- a vote so outrageous that it played nationally on radio and TV to millions of people for an entire news cycle. God only knows how many Catholics saw that. God doesn't fool around when he interferes.

We also see the hand of God in the Obama-Romney debate. 67 million viewers (many, many Catholics) saw both men as they had never seen them before. Only God could do undo years and years of political branding in an hour and a half.

Was God not present for the Biden-Ryan debate? Don't make me laugh if you think not.

At a time in American history when the Government wants to become our God, the Government wants to become our God, our God is confusing the enemy. He is showing each of us who have ears to hear and eyes to see. And we are each being called in our hearts, personally, very very personally, to respond to Him. We are not living in ordinary times. If you think so, tell it to God when you stand before Him after life.
